Take & Eat
Take and Eat
It’s counter culture to talk about Jesus... and God... and sin... and surrender... these days. I get it, I feel like that a lot too, but I do hope you will keep on reading this anyways.
.
Listen...we need to drop the shovel.
.
If we could ‘see’ what we are doing to one another it would resemble standing on a heap of smelly dung, shovel in hand, heaving loads back and forth onto one another. Were we actually doing that in real life our arms would be tired, the stinch would be overwhelming, we would be nauseous. Hopefully we would walk away, go wash up, and get on with making a life that is much more beautifully fragrant and loving.
.
A lot of us have suffered under some pretty heavy religious abuse in our lives and the mere mention of church or Jesus or ‘religion’ makes us want to run (or barf). But, let’s just set all of that aside for a moment and see if we can find some healing by taking Jesus at His Word just for ourselves (not examining anyone else). Jesus was and is and will always be about love and healing and restoration. If you didn’t get that message, or received it all wonky from me or anyone else, just know He really does want to talk to you, and He really does know how to fix all of this mess, and He really is alllllll the love.
.
His body was broken for our healing, His blood was shed to remove and forgive all of our sins...so take and eat of His glorious wonderful Words, because the hard ones, well...they are Life. Do this to remember what He has done for you.
.
“But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.” So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you. Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting. Feel the pain of your sin, be sorrowful and weep! Let your joking around be turned into mourning and your joy into deep humiliation. Be willing to be made low before the Lord and he will exalt you!”
James (Jacob) 4:6-10 TPT
