Wind & Waves

Wind and Waves

The storms of life are such a good experience, we don’t like them, but when we look back they’re our markers for change. As the rain and wind and waves crash against our proverbial house, it’s like standing in a car wash being power sprayed and whipped by all of those stringy things. The sudden storms in our lives, the ones we couldn’t see coming in the distance, those perform a super fast cleaning work, they reveal our hearts and vulnerabilities. They wash us clean really fast, quickly surging our land with a deluge of much needed water, they show us where we are weak and need to make some necessary repairs, they also reveal where we are strong...if we found ourselves hunkered down leaning on the Lord and dear friends riding it out then that is a big win and something to be most grateful for.

When the air is calm again, that’s a good time to evaluate where our weaknesses and strengths were exposed, and then remember this one thing:
*This is not mine to bear.*
Not the wins.
Not the losses.
Anything we have is by His Gift of Grace, and whether we win or lose, if we are found in Him we are always going to be given the solutions that are greater than our problems and swiftly return us to love.
.
“Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:24-25‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭TPT‬‬
