From my April 2020 hand painted watercolor collection, 31 Days of Mini Paintings.  Each of these 4”x4” pieces were inspired by my favorite places I have visited around the world, they each hold very special meaning for me and my loved ones.  As I painted, beautiful memories rushed in my heart of the laughter, joy, hugs, meaningful conversations, and breathtaking views that were inspired by our Creator.  I hope a spark of inspiration springs forth in you as you enjoy your own piece of our blue jewel earth.

My first day had come to a close visiting the love of my life’s favorite place on earth. Here his childhood memories are filled with laughter, family, and lots of best friend cousins, sand and surf and gentle breezes off the Atlantic, talking and playing backgammon while eating an Italian Ice, under bright beautiful colorful umbrellas lining the beach. I had been invited into something core to his heart and life, time literally at a standstill with the innocent nostalgia of a Norman Rockwell painting. We packed up our beach gear and followed behind the two that would soon become my ‘Hero Couple’. Their steps taken very carefully, his precious care for her as she made it across the sand, her loving eyes assuring him of her appreciation. Once they reached the sidewalk they were hand in hand waking in front of us like two young lovers oblivious to anything else around them. I looked at the love of my life with tears in my eyes and told him, “That...I want that...love that lasts a lifetime, over generations of children and grandchildren, still holding hands, kisses and hugs, laughs and smiles, crazy for one another like it’s brand new every day.” Here come the tears welling up. It would be too personal for me to share all they have endured, these two that live like no couple I have ever met, and I am honored to know a few that come very close. When it all comes down to what is important in life, they lived it out loud for all to see, although I doubt they knew anyone noticed. I painted this in honor of my ‘Hero Couple’ to thank them for the life they lived together in love, in this quaint little Norman Rockwell town, over many generations. They made a huge impact on me that I will always strive to carry on with the love of my life, especially when the days are tough. We need inspiration couples like this, to remind us of what really matters most and bring us back to the simplicity of how it all began for us the human race...two becoming One.
